I am often asked how to cope with the weight of the world on top of the challenges of every-day life.
I hear you, it feels like too much.
My advice? Cultivate clarity and connection. Here's how:
- Have one foot in grief/rage and one foot in action.
- Have both feet in philosophical or spiritual contemplation.
- Have both feet in wellbeing practices.
- Have both feet in community.
- And frequently dip those toes in the experiences that bring you gratitude and joy. Â
I’m here to help you put your feet and toes where they need to be.
That’s what Reflection and Revolution is all about.
I’ll support you to acknowledge your emotions from within a disconnected body and to interrogate your thoughts from within a busy mind. I’ll show you what it is to live a life of alignment. I’ll suggest a “pick and mix” bag of wellbeing practices so you chew on what works for you. Together, we’ll build community.
I have voyaged through all of this myself and I am here to hold you through it. You ready? Let's go!

Reflection & Revolution: Yoga and art for clatity and connection
Equipping you wherever you are on this adventure
What's included:
- Six online hour-long sessions - listen over six days, six weeks, six months... your choice!
Different topics frame each week, based on the yamas (ethical principles) outlined by Sage Patanjali in his Yoga Sutras.
Each session is a mix of reflection (philosophical contemplation), revolution (pointers for practical implementation), and community conversation (chatting, processing and debriefing).
These sessions meet you wherever you are. Perhaps you're in "reflection" mode, perhaps you're in "revolution" mode. Perhaps you are oscillating between the two; perhaps you don't know where you are! I've got you.
Recordings are available right now - listen when it suits you.Â
The course portal also includes some optional journalling prompts and "homework" exercises if you want to go further into your explorations.
- Creative nourishment and expression:
Creative collage tutorials so you can play with a new project that matches each topic.
Downloadable colouring-in sheets to match each topic.
- Support with sadhana (conscious spiritual practice)Â to anchor us while we are doing this work:
A prerecorded workshop with accompanying workbook on building your own five minute yoga practice.
Affirmation cards / smartphone lock screen images to match each topic.
- A downloadable ZineÂ
Like an "underground" miniature magazine, this zine is on a surprise topic that is relevant to this work.Â
I'm ready to buy
Reflection & Revolution is everything you need if...
- You are human (yeah, that's a big call... I'm kinda joking, kinda serious).
- You wish to deepen your connection with your true self and your community, both locally and globally.
- You are a spiritual person (or spiritually curious)Â seeking to make a positive difference from a place of love and connection.
- You are teacher or student of yoga or other wellness and healing modalities, with an interest in these practices being about more than yourself.Â
- You are struggling with grief, rage, fear, hopelessness, disconnection, overwhelm, shut down... and could do with some help during these troubled times.Â
- You are open to trying out yoga and/or creativity practices as a way of coping and connecting.
- You are ready to contemplate on a deeper level, and are looking for practical and empowering ways to implement what you learn into your life.

Hey legends, I'm Shae
I am a Yoga Teacher, Spiritual Activist and Conscious Creativity Coach.
I lead you towards knowing and being your most joyful and connected True Self through yoga wisdom and practices, and making art just for the fun of it.
I guide you to build and maintain courage rooted in your values and virtues, so you can show up effectively and on fire in service of collective wellbeing.
I join with you in community to feel and fuel love as an active energy for individual and societal freedom and happiness.
Â
I was born living and breathing activismÂ
- just ask my parents!
I've always been a thorn in the side of the people, corporations and systems that cause suffering and injustice. Call it my dharma - my life assignment. My high school English Teacher once described me as a radical and an iconoclast and I took that as a massive compliment.Â
During my (almost) twenty years as a professional fundraiser and advocate, I worked with some of Australia's favourite not-for-profit organisations on many of the most recognisable awareness and fundraising campaigns. IÂ also held numerous voluntary ambassador roles and was honoured with awards both locally and internationally. My undergrad focussed on history and politics and my masters is in international development.
I used the think of activism and yoga as seperate. I saw my life as "before" vs "now." I "used to be" an activist; "now" I am a yoga teacher. But yoga and activism are not seperate. They are actually inextricably linked. Stick with me for the "why" and the "how."

What is "Spiritual Activism"?
Activism is such a loaded word! Think of it as active love, service, leadership, volunteering, community building... Think of it as conscious choices and behaviour that is aligned with your values.
I have to explain this now, because the yamas (ethical principles) are about how we treat others. As a course, Reflection & Revolution is as much about self-development as it is about how we engage with society. Because the two cannot, and should not, be separated.Â
We are all activists in our own unique ways. Activism is direct effort made to affect positive change. Perhaps it's about promoting a particular improvement in society; perhaps it's an attempt to stop harm or injustice. Perhaps it is a grand effort or undertaking, but it's more likely a subtle and constant way of being. But what's it got to do with spirituality?
Yoga teaches us that everyone and everything is connected - and divine. The wisdom and practices that lead us to deeply remembering this connection result in lessening our own suffering. They also, necessarily, lead us towards deliberately preventing, relieving and resolving the suffering of others.Â
As we gain clarity and connection from spiritual practice and contemplation, activism becomes automatic.Â
Spiritual activism centres connection. It recognises that inner work and outer work necessarily go together. By anchoring interconnection and collectivism we uplift ourselves and others.Â
Spiritual activism is informed by (and sustained with) our understanding that we all matter, we are all worthy, we are all the same.
It's an expression of love.

Is yoga political, though?
Yes! Everything is political.Â
You know, thousands of years ago Sage Patanjali systematised existing yoga wisdom into a format that could be memorised, shared orally and contemplated. Patanjali's 196 Yoga Sutras outline an eight limbed path to yoga (union with the divine). The compilation of this wisdom was a political action; it was activism. Patanjali took exclusive concepts and made the knowledge accessible to all, regardless of status or circumstance. Patanjali was radical.Â
Some people think they can "stay out of politics." Do you? If so, I truly believe you are well-intentioned, so I say this with so much love:Â
It is not possible to be "neutral." When you "opt out" of "politics" you are actually supporting the status quo. To take no action is to support how things currently are. It's called passive agreement. This is an uncomfortable truth. Take as much time as you need to sit with it. Contemplate for a while. I'm here for you.
Because we are being honest, I also need to say that if you feel you can take a neutral stance towards politics, it is probably because you are privileged enough to be comfortable; comfortable enough to be largely unaffected by the many injustices inflicted on people, animals and the planet. Privilege doesn't make you a bad person; it's what you do with it that matters. I am here to unpack this with you.Â
Ask yourself: what are my privileges? What am I in passive agreement with?Â
Reflect on that for a while and the truth will be revealed. Everything is political.
And now... the work begins.Â
